Chess pieces have different values and abilities in the game.

Pawn can move 2 spaces of it's starting square and then only 1 after

the only time it can move diagonally when takeing opposite player piece.

Rook can move foward ,backwards,left,right .

knight can move in a L shape any direction.

Bishop moves diagonally any number of vacant squares.

Queen can mowv in any number of vacant  squares backward,forward

left,right.

King can only move 1 space unless it is makeing a move called

castle with a rook.
